This last track and field meet was a grueling three days of harsh competition, leaving everyone weary and at least one person seriously injured. There were over 1,300 competing athletes there from schools all over the country.
The main event of the weekend for Methodist University was Komla Akogo competing in the Decathlon, a ten-event competition that takes place over two days. He worked himself to the bone to be able to complete these events over the long weekend, over all coming in 7th.
The Methodist Track and Field team had 25 records this weekend:
Decathlon: Komla Akogo
Runners: Johnathan Bordeaux, Micah McCorvey, Vondre Nelson, Richard Schieferstein, Logan Williams, Keturah Akpan, Quierra Hawkins, Niya Johnson, DβZariyah Parran, and Alexandria Wilborn.
Throwers: Tristan Bowser, Alex Fritz, Hakeem Harrison, Emanuel Herbert, Zyon Lewis, Elijah Marine, Danzell, Simpkin, Caidyn Barriger, Makayla Blue, Carmin Davis, Rebecca McGaughnea, and Jordan Pecorella.
Jumpers: Jeremiah Freeman, Andrew Schienebeck, and Kayleen Grullon.
