Food Review πͺ
The best eats in the town of Fayetteville. ~ Written by Michael Doperak.
Looking for a small pizza joint thatβs not too far from campus? Search no furtherβBrooklyn Pizzeria on Ramsey street has got you covered. From huge slices of pizza by the slice if youβre eating alone, or large hand-tossed pies for a group, Brooklyn will serve all of your pizza needs, New York-style.
Brooklyn Pizzeria is a charming local restaurant that is just a five minute drive from campus on Ramsey street. Like the name suggests, Brooklynβs main dish would be their New York-style pizzasβlarge thin-crust masterpieces that will make your mouth water. During my visit, I was offered a lunch special of two slices with a fountain drink for $8.00.
Brooklyn serves New York pizza, which means that these slices were HUGE. Really, four of these slices basically equates to half a Brooklyn pizza, which is thirty inches in diameter. Of course, you can order as many individual slices as you want, but a lunch special would be enough for one person. The pizza was niceβchewy but not extremely doughy, without a large level of grease. Overall, the pieces I ordered were great and definitely distinct from the style of βconvenience pizzaβ like Papa Johnβs or Dominos.
What was even better than the pizza was the speed that it came out. Of course, individual slices will probably come out quicker than an entire pizza, but it took five minutes or less for my food to arrive. While you are waiting for your meal, you can watch the staff create the pizza from scratch, throwing the dough in the air to shape their pies.
Speaking of the staff, they are friendlyβbut when I went in on a Thursday at 11:00 am, right around lunch hour, they became busy pretty quickly. Not only were they trying to dish out pizzas quickly, they were also gathering any call-in orders, making wings, and calzones to satisfy their customerβs orders. Looking away from pizza for a second, itβs worth mentioning that Brooklyn also serves other dishes, like pasta, stromboli, salads, and more. You can find their full menu here and there are plenty of options if you donβt feel like eating pizza.
Overall, Brooklyn Pizzeria is a charming joint, decorated from head to toe in sports memorabilia, military decorations, and certificates of excellence. The interior of the restaurant is small, but welcoming and intimate. You feel like you are part of the family at Brooklyn Pizzeria, so make sure to stop in anytime. Students will receive a 10% discount when showing their IDs, so make sure to take advantage of this deal!
